As an avid cyclist, Ron Longueira knows about navigating the road and going the distance. Those traits have served him well in his role as Director of Operations at Milbrandt Insurance.
Ron joined Milbrandt in 2009 just as the company was purchasing and merging operations with Aviette Agency. Like Milbrandt, Aviette had a stellar reputation as one of New York’s premier insurance brokers, specializing in niche business insurance. From a marketing perspective, the two companies were well-matched. But behind the scenes they operated differently, from computer programs to workflow procedures. Assimilating the two teams presented quite a challenge.
Having successfully managed an acquisition with his previous employer, it wasn’t long before Ron had standardized automation platforms, systems, training and workflows throughout the expanded Milbrandt-Aviette operation.
Today, Milbrandt runs like an efficient well-oiled machine. Implementing the latest technology ensures efficiency throughout the organization. Milbrandt is a paperless and eco-conscious environment. “Operating efficiently is good for us, but it’s also great for our clients,” Ron explains. “We make it easy to interact and we’re able to achieve much faster turnaround times than many of our competitors.”
In addition to managing operations, Ron oversees commercial claims, advocates for clients, and consults on coverage questions and issues. Ron also develops strong business relations with carriers and industry peers.
Before coming to Milbrandt, Ron worked for 30 years in the insurance industry. He was the member of an executive team that grew an insurance organization from $2 million to $7 million in annual revenue. In 2000, he received the Gerald O’Brien Award, recognizing him as an outstanding leader in the Independent Insurance Agents Association.
Ron enjoys the down-to-earth working culture at Milbrandt. “We have people who are experienced, committed to excellence, and capable of handling every situation,” he says. “I also enjoy working with the other leaders here. They give you the freedom to make decisions and get things done.”
Ron and his family reside in Valley Cottage, NY. Ron enjoys cycling for charity, playing golf and sailing the Hudson River.
